Luxury Amalfi Coast Elopement: From Dubai to Positano with a Riva Yatch

A Dreamy Amalfi Coast Elopement: From Sant’Eustachio’s Ancient Ruins to a Yacht Ride to Positano

When Izabela and Franky reached out to us from Dubai, we knew this elopement would be something truly special.
It immediately brought to mind the extraordinary story of Juliana and Camilo’s wedding at the Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel, and once again, I felt we were about to embark on a journey through beauty, history, and timeless elegance.

They weren’t looking for a traditional wedding. They wanted an experience. An adventure. A celebration of love immersed in the essence of the Amalfi Coast—its light, its flavors, its iconic style.

From the very beginning, they dreamed of including everything that makes this place unforgettable: the scent of lemons, the taste of fresh pizza in a sunlit piazza, the sweetness of lemon granita, the sea breeze on their skin, and a classic Riva yacht ride along the coast. And that’s exactly what we created—an elopement that felt like a Dolce&Gabbana spot and a love letter to southern Italy.

The Ceremony at Sant’Eustachio: Where History Meets the Sky

Perched atop the cliffs of Pontone, just above Amalfi, lie the evocative ruins of the Basilica of Sant’Eustachio—a 12th-century Romanesque masterpiece commissioned by the noble D’Afflitto family, who claimed descent from the martyr Saint Eustace. Once one of the grandest churches of the medieval Maritime Republic of Amalfi, its three apses, intertwined arches, and sun-washed stone walls form a breathtaking stage overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.

It was here, among these ancient columns and open-air apses, that Izabela and Franky exchanged their vows. Surrounded by history and a sweeping panorama that stretches from Atrani to Ravello, their promises echoed with genuine emotion—no frills, no pretense—just the sound of their voices carried by the sea breeze into the horizon.

A Stroll Through Amalfi (with Pizza and Lemon Granita, of Course)

After the ceremony, we wandered through the streets of Amalfi. This town never feels staged—it simply is. Izabela and Franky shared a slice of pizza in the square, toasted with icy lemon granita (you find them everywhere but I really love the ones from “A Sciulia“), and laughed like teenagers falling in love all over again. We let the town lead us, capturing spontaneous moments that felt anything but posed.

It was less like a wedding day and more like a Dolce & Gabbana editorial—sun-drenched, bold, unapologetically Italian.

Yacht Elopement on the Amalfi Coast: From Amalfi to Positano

As the afternoon turned golden, we boarded a classic Riva wooden yacht( an icon of Italian style) from Amalfisails. Cruising along the coast, with the cliffs glowing under the sun and the wind in their hair, Izabela and Franky looked like they had stepped straight out of a dream.

We photographed them in the heart of the sea, against the backdrop of the coast’s dramatic beauty, until we reached Positano just in time for the last rays of light. It was intimate, cinematic, and wildly romantic.

We photographed them in the open sea, with the dramatic coastline as their backdrop, until we reached Positano just in time for the last rays of light—an intimate, cinematic, and wildly romantic finale.

As the sky turned soft pink and orange, Izabela and Franky opened a small cake they had picked up earlier that afternoon from Pasticceria Pansa, a historic bakery in the heart of Amalfi. It wasn’t a planned moment. It wasn’t posed. It was simply them, sitting on the yacht at sunset, sharing dessert in front of Positano’s silhouette. And yes, we all had a slice.

A small but perfect detail: their spoons had the words “Yes I do” engraved on them. Sweetness, in every sense of the word.
